Candy Cane Hat for Baby Ben

I came up with the idea for this hat when I tried to think of the cutest "sweetest" hat for a 5 month old baby.  Welcome to the family Benjamin!

Owl in Orange

I crocheted this little owl for my sister-in-law, Jill, for Christmas.

Santa Speedo Run in Boston, MA - December 13, 2008

These crazy women raised over $1,000 for Cradles to Crayons and ran in their speedos in 20 degree weather.  God Bless them!!!  Thank you to Kelly, Ronnie, the two girls Bernice found on Craigslist to join the group, Cindi, and Bernice (the only one not moving in the photo) for including me, in a small way, in your event.  (I designed and crocheted all the hats and mini-skirts.)

Kelly and Ronnie are in the center.  Bernice's 2-tone brown hat can be seen at the bottom of the picture.  And one of the girls from craigslist is on the left.

December 7, 2008 2-5pm

I am participating in an Art Show with several other women at 36 Shea Road in Cambridge, MA on 12-7-08. I do this show every year and the crowd keeps getting bigger. Host and fellow artful woman, Jill Bent, makes beautiful bags and pillows from vintage French linens and Japanese kimonos. Nancy Popper hand embroiders the faces of the charming dolls she makes. Aileen makes small-batch, lusciously-scented soaps. And a new woman to the group (sorry, I forget her name) will be selling Ugandan, rolled paper jewelry.

I will be selling my new cup cake ornaments, snowmen ornaments, veggie baskets, robots, hats and hat sets, skirts, and cup cozies (above). I may also have barrettes if I have time to make them.

I would love to see you there.

Doe Costume for the Santa Speedo Run in Boston on December 13, 2008

Bernice is modeling her costume for the Santa Speedo Run (a charity road race  to benefit Cradles to Crayons)she is in on 12-13-08 to be held in chilly Boston, MA. Bernice comissioned me to make all the team's outfits and I am thrilled to do so. She also asked me if I'd like to run in the 1.25 mile race but was less thrilled to learn that all participants must run in their BATHING SUITS! God Bless all of you brave or crazy enough to do this charity run. I will run with you in spirit and be there in person to cheer you on and also to get some more photos.

So Many Flowers!

I am amazed sometimes that I remember when, and from where, I get my yarn. This green yarn was actually part of a sweater I started in 1988, my senior year at Boston Latin. And now my daughter is wearing a hat made from it.

Red hat with flowers

This crazy red yarn was given to me by my father-in-law. He is quite skillful at finding what I am looking for, in this case it was the yarn. Thank you, Dad!

Robot

This little guy along with his brothers and sisters are destined for a window display at Henry Bear's Park at the Cambridge location. I went by today to see if they will work for them. If they work out, I'll be posting a photo of the window. It would be SO cool if they use them!
